21/02/1521/02/2015 – The Rigidur the better
At STREIF we pride ourselves on supplying a quality product, which is robust enough to last for generations, this means taking a holistic approach to the design and construction of our timber frame buildings and ensuring all products within the timber frame are of the best quality.
A STREIF timber frame building is a solid building and this is down to following the above ethos. Not only do we provide the highest quality solid timber from a completely sustainable source and mineral wool insulation with a low environmental impact, we sheath the timber frame in the factory with British Gypsum Rigidur H which is no ordinary sheathing board.
British Gypsum Rigidur H is a gypsum fibreboard which combines gypsum, cellulose fibres from recycled paper and water, to form a dense sheet material that has superior rigidity, durability and mechanical strength making it the ideal product to combine with the STREIF timber frame.
The unique surface of Rigidur H protects the boards from scratches and damage, yet is smooth enough to decorate direct without the need for surface treatments. The tough surface is a result of its special production process. Both the Rigidur H product and the manufacturing process have been awarded sustainability certificates by The Rosenheim Institute of Construction Biology and Ecology in Germany, which means it’s right up our street here at STREIF.
Additional benefits of the Rigidur H fibreboard are the mass and sound absorbing qualities which enable high acoustic performances to be achieved. The fibreboard also achieves an A2 Euroclass reaction to fire rating and a Class 0 reaction to fire rating in accordance with Approved Document B of the national Building Regulations.
British Gypsum Rigidur H is just one of many quality components which come together to create a closed panel timber frame which stands out from the crowd.
