In modern construction, visibility and quality control are essential practices across every project. At our production facilities based in Germany this is even more challenging and an important aspect to get right to maintain the highest standards of quality for every element that goes through production.
We required a system that could connect our factory operations with our UK project teams, providing real-time data, transparency, and control. The solution was Procore, a powerful construction management platform that allowed us to store project data and share documentation instantly.
The QR difference
With support from Procore’s technical team, we took this one step further by integrating QR codes onto every manufactured component that goes through our production process. Teams including the client can simply scan the QR code on site of each component and can instantly access the following information –
- Component data and specification details
- Quality inspection reports, complete with photos, to capture every check has been completed
This integration provides everyone – from factory teams to Streif’s project managers, designers, and clients with instant access to live, accurate data. The impact has been immediate, improving collaboration between our UK and German teams, reducing errors through early issue detection, and enhancing visibility across every stage of production. It’s a stress-free win for everyone involved!
Real time support
Our UK design and project management teams can now support the factory in real time, ensuring that every product meets specifications before leaving Germany, thus reducing unnecessary rework onsite. This approach not only strengthened our quality assurance but also streamlined our workflow from design to delivery, enabling us to deliver every project on time and error-free.
As always, there is room for improvement, and we continue to explore innovative ways to enhance our services and capabilities to deliver even better projects and experiences for our clients. Currently, we are working on implementing 360° imaging to capture daily site activities and integrate this technology into our inspection process. Although this feature is not yet available through Procore directly, we remain optimistic that it will soon align with other leading platforms offering similar capabilities. Stay tuned for updates!
