Following on from the four school extensions for which STREIF UK provided the structural envelope in 2014 for Baxall Construction Ltd, we have now started the erection onsite for Robsack Wood Primary School. This is the largest project to date working alongside Baxall Construction. The building consists of a 740m² single storey unit with a monopitch roof and a smaller flat roof section which will be connected to the existing school . The new block will provide a number of additional classrooms, offices and a nursery.
After the initial design process the factory took handover of the design and manufactured the order in two weeks, with the end product ready for transportation to the UK for our start onsite on the 15th June 2015.
With the sun shining and the long hours of daylight providing perfect conditions for the erection of the building our German and UK site teams pushed forward and by day nine the roof was on, which is pretty impressive stuff for a building of this size! Focus now shifts to the internal second fix works and external wall finishes before handover back to the Main Contractor in July.
