The stylish new Sports Pavilion at St Paul's School was an impressive joint venture with Streif and the designer/main contractor for the project Blue Forest Ltd.
The 215m2 building is the new hub of the Schools sports facilities. This single storey building consists of Home and Away Changing Facilities, Male/Female and Accessible WC, Equipment Storage, Plant Storage and Main Bar area. The construction has been designed with a staircase leading to an impressive viewing platform which gives spectators the opportunity to enjoy watching the outdoor pursuits at St Paul’s School.
The sleek new sports pavilion is wrapped externally in Siberian Larch vertical cladding fixed back to factory installed cladding battens. To fulfil the design brief Streif were required to supply a fully opening 10.5m wide bi-fold door. This required some clever thinking from our structural engineers as our roof cassettes needed supporting over the opening with minimal deflection. The solution a massive 600mm deep steel beam!
The Sports Pavilion was erected within the programmed three-week window and handed over to the Main Contractor for fit out in August 2019.
