STREIF built new extensions to three schools for East Sussex County Council alongside main contractor Baxall Construction Ltd in 2014 which were designed by White Designs.
The new extensions were designed to juxtapose the existing Victorian school buildings with the extensions being finished in a white render and the angular flat roof construction giving all three extensions a modern look. The angular roof design meant all supporting walls needed to be chamfered to match the pitch of the roof which proved to be challenging task for the STREIF design and production teams but one that was overcome to ensure all the extensions were erected seamlessly.
Due to the nature of the sites being existing schools with difficult access and all this during term time, careful erection/health & safety plans had to be put together to ensure minimum disruption to the schools daily routine.
