Built in 2010 for East Sussex County Council and designed by HMY Architects, Frant Primary School was the third joint venture between STREIF and main contractor W Stirland Ltd.

The building has strong lines with a long sweeping curve to the west, tall angular elements to the east and a lower central atrium linking the two. The facades are softened by a mixture of brickwork and larch timber cladding, both broken up by large timber aluminium windows below mono-pitched sedum roofs. Inside it is all light and space with exposed glulam beams and high acoustic ceilings.

The 1,038m² building has several interesting features including an innovative SIPs roof, a fully engineered passive ventilation system, photovoltaic panels and wall U-values driven down to 0.12 W/m²K. STREIF put the off-site manufactured structure up over a three week period, working on a rolling schedule with the SIPs installer so that no part of the building was ever left without its roof for more than one day.
