Built in 2008 for Downland Housing Association (now part of Affinity Sutton), Covert Mead was the first joint venture between STREIF and main contractor W Stirland Ltd. Conceived as an early test case for the system, the building proved to be very popular both with the housing association and the main contractor because of its quality, strength and performance.

Arranged as four flats over a two storey 280 m² building, the tenants enjoy high levels of thermal and acoustic comfort thanks to the excellent build quality of the STREIF system. Meanwhile, wooden windows, cavity brickwork and timber clad gables all contribute to an entirely traditional look which was important to the client.

On this site, STREIF crew members were able to demonstrate more of their skill set by undertaking the roof tiling contract as well as the instalation of the fascias, soffits and rainwater goods. It is always up to the client to decide how far STREIF takes a building, but the whole way is never a problem.
